3 Night Gauteng/North West Cultural Experience

Day 1

Pretoria is also known as the Jacaranda City. More than 80 000 Jacaranda trees line the streets of the capital city and if you are fortunate enough to visit Pretoria during October you might see the city covered in a blanket of purple flowers. Highlights for today would be Voortrekker Monument, Kruger House Museum, Church Square & Union Buildings. You will overnight in a guesthouse in the Pretoria area.

Day 2
After breakfast you we head to Johannesburg & Soweto. On our tour you will experience some of this great city’s history. We will visit the Hector Pieterson Museum, named after the young student killed in the 1976 student protests. Then see, and if we have time, visit the modest homes of Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu on Vilikazi Street. Highlights for today are: Commissioner Street (Drive through), New Town – (Drive through), Old Post Office and City Hall photo stop, Top of Africa, Standard Bank Museum, Chris Hani-Baragwanath Hospital (Drive through) Hector Pieterson Museum, Vilakazi Street. We make our way to Hartbeespoort where we will end our day off on a high note at the Lesedi Cultural Village where we will stay the night.

Day 3

Today is the day for animal behaviour! We will visit the Cheetahs and the elephants. The Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre, formerly known as the De Wildt Cheetah Project, pioneered cheetah breeding, rehabilitation and reintroduction in South Africa. Visiting the centre gives you an understanding and appreciation for this magnificent animal. The guided tour lasts more or less 3 hours and the pick-up times from your accommodation indicated below are fixed. Thereafter we will visit the Elephant Sanctuary. The close encounter with elephants you experience at The Elephant Sanctuary truly is one of a kind. When meeting them you will discover that each one has a different character, personality and temperament.Overnight at a guesthouse in Hartbeespoort.

Day 4
After breakfast we depart back to Pretoria.
